Grand Scarecrow Parade
The 1st Scarecrow Festival jumpstarts its opening day with a colorful and exciting parade of all the winning provincial scarecrow entries around the Mall of Asia Complex. The parade of entries will be accompanied by their respective provincial street dances as well as their local beauty queens and local government officials. After the parade, there will be ten mini scarecrows that will be displayed at the SMX walkway.
Visitors shall be greeted with an 8.5 meter-high Giant Scarecrow at the SMX Convention Center lobby. The majestic creation will be vying as a potential Guinness World Record holder. Its unveiling will be held during the opening ceremony to signal the launch of the Scarecrow Festival as well as the opening of the National Trade Fair.
A Taste of Cagayan Valley
Feast on mouth-watering delicacies and flavorful specialties of the five provinces of Region 2. Malagkit, which literally means "sticky rice" in the local vernacular, will be one of the highlights in this special section filled with gastronomic delights.
Each province will have a designated day to feature its own Malagkit food items from 10:30 am-11:30 am and its local cuisines from 2:00pm-3:00pm. Don't miss any of their delectable treats!
Street Dance
It's time for Cagayan Valley to show off their talent! The winners of the Provincial Street Dance Competiton, coming from all five provinces of Region 2, will come to Manila to showcase their native, artistic and colorful festival dances to everyone. Street Dances will be featured everyday at the SMX Exhibit Hall and in the MOA North and South Arcade.
Cultural Presentation
Rich in history and cultural treasures, the Philippines is a prime destination for first time tourists to experience of cultural wonders and creative possibilities. On the 20th year of the National Trade Fair, the five provinces of Region 2 will proudly display their ethnicity, heritage and tradition through their various cultural dances to be performed daily at the SMX Convention Center.
Regional Crafts Demo
Ever wondered how to make those beautiful woven handicrafts? The intriguing mastery and hard work of its maker will now be available for your eyes to witness and behold. The Crafts Demo will feature and demonstrate the best handicrafts from each region of the Philippines. Marvel at the demonstrations and learn how various raw materials are woven into intricate masterpieces.
Cooking Demo (Cook Magazine)
Undeniably, the Filipinos' eating habits often lead to indulgence. Moreover, the Fillipino palate holds its own distinct taste and appeal that is evident in its different culinary dishes. This activity will showcase how to cook local food with sumptuous recipes that will definitely entice your taste buds and define true Filipino cuisine.

Gawad Ginintuang Yaman Awards Night
As a salute to personalities and organizations who have assisted in the development of local entrepreneurs through their invaluable support to the National Trade Fair, the Gawad Ginintuang Yaman will be re-launched this year bearing a new look that sets a new standard for excellence. Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs), whose success can be attributed through their participation in the National Trade Fair, are likewise honored through this prestigious recognition.
Special Settings
Giant Scarecrow
The Giant Scarecrow, towering 8.5 meters in height, will feature the winning design from the competition that culminated on February 19, 2011. The symbolic figure will vie for the tallest scarecrow in the world.
Gawad Ginintuang Yaman 2011
The Gawad Ginintuang Yaman will be re-launched this year and its special setting will feature the finalists, past winners, and the new trophy that marks its institutionalization.
NTF Scarecrow Setting by Ms. Penk Ching
The NTF Scarecrow Setting will be designed by world-renowned cake maker and decorator Ms. Penk Ching. She has gained global recognition for being commissioned to create the Beijing Olympic Bird's Nest last 2008 that was sponsored by the Coca-Cola China Olympic Group, which earned accolades for the Philippines.
Product Development and Design Center of the Philippines (PDDCP) Prototype Setting
The Product Development and Design Center of the Philippines has been developing prototypes for the Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) and incorporating global design trends to improve the export quality of our Philippine made products. This setting aims to inspire current and future entrepreneurs to push for creativity and innovation in product breakthroughs.
