Philippine Game Developers Ready to Play in Game Developers Conference in USA
In a bid to continuously position the Philippines as Asia’s creative hub and preferred ICT outsourcing destination in the Asia Pacific Region, Philippine game developers will take part in the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, USA.
Game development in the Philippines is relatively young. However, with Filipinos’ innate creativity and passion for excellence, local game developers have risen to the demands of the global market, serving global clients for many years now. In 2003, local company Anino Games released the first Filipino-made computer game “Anito: Defend a Land Enraged” and received an award as “Best Connectivity Award” at the International Mobile Gaming Awards held in Barcelona, Spain for its console game win in 2006. To date, several industry players have also developed different games and applications for PC, Nintendo DS and DSi, Wii, iPhone/Ipod Touch and mobile phone.
Born with creativity and driven by passion, Filipinos equip themselves with the latest tools and knowledge to further advance their expertise and competence in delivering excellent creative services such as animation, film pre-production to post-production and content creation to name a few.
The Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions, an attached agency of the Department of Trade and Industry, is the organizer of the Philippine participation to the Game Development Conference in San Francisco, USA.
